Environmental challenges

In a world where environmental issues are paramount, The Kitchen Company aims to position itself as a key player in the change. In collaboration with our partners and manufacturers, we develop product ranges that integrate environmentally friendly solutions. This is made possible through our actions on multiple fronts.

Raw materials

Wood, the main component of our kitchens, comes from sustainably managed forests, and the panels used contain a high percentage of recycled materials. Despite this, it is still necessary to use new wood. In order to minimize the environmental impact, we source wood from sustainably managed forests. The wood used for our furniture is PEFC certified, ensuring that it comes from controlled and sustainably managed forests. Among our most representative products, our Senso front is made of 100% recycled materials, and its surface is also recyclable. This allows for the reuse of the product at the end of its life cycle.

Production

This energy-intensive step is essential to minimize our carbon footprint. Since the summer of 2024, 50% of the electricity used for the production of our K-start and K-one ranges comes from photovoltaic panels that cover the roof of the factory.

The heating, on the other hand, is adapted to the time of year. In winter, wood waste is processed and used for heating, thereby reducing the use of fossil fuels. This helps to reduce resource consumption while heating the production areas and the factories. During milder periods, an ingenious system uses air compressors to generate heat.

Packaging

The best packaging is the one that is not produced, and a thorough reflection has allowed us to eliminate most packaging where possible. For our furniture, for example, the packaging has been designed to reduce its volume, and reusable solutions have been prioritized.
